Stephen Perelgut works in the IBM Canada Cloud and Cognitive Software Division. He is developing the IBM Skills Academy in Canada, teaching faculty how to use the latest advances in technology in their classrooms. This can be anything from Cognitive application development to using Blockchain to enhance business processes to building more secure applications and catching security violations in networks. This allows him to maintain a broad view across technical advances and a unique approach to integrating these changes. As a result of this, he continues to maintain the close relationships developed when he worked with top university and college faculty to integrate their research with IBM’s products and services. Stephen also sits on advisory councils both for academics and for government agencies. Prior to all of this, Stephen helped set up the IBM Innovation Space in Toronto and has mentored groups participating in a number of Hackathons.
