Hassan is currently working with numerous innovations including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning (DL) systems for large government clients including departments that are using the Built In Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) with a focus on identifying and extracting risks, controls and other interesting information from data holdings with unstructured data (reports, emails, spreadsheets and pdf documents). Hassan has also recently delivered a large provincial data deidentification project for very large health information sets while protecting patient privacy and enabling research. Hassan is the market lead for Privacy and the General Data Protection Regulation compliance (“GDPR”).
Previously Hassan was a principal at A Hundred Answers (AHA), an advisory and implementation services firm focused on risk, business transformation/optimization, data analytics, and case management solutions (Microsoft Dynamic CRM). Hassan helps his clients with corporate strategy, enterprise risk, business architecture, enterprise reporting, technology strategy, IT governance and data privacy. His more recent work includes develop innovative approaches to performing audits including “Agile Audits”, “Architecture Driven Risk Approach” and methods that employ data analytics to instrument the development of multi-year risk assessments and audit road-maps. Hassan also has been working with Financial Institutions, supporting innovation in managing model risk, Operational Risk Management (ORM) and bringing coherence, constituency and cohesiveness to risk intelligence across the risk and audit functions enabling reporting is “board and audit committee ready”.
Hassan has been interviewed by the CBC radio for Identity theft and Back-Bone magazine for his views about the future of the Internet and Web 3.0. He has delivered numerous presentations for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Finance management Institute (FMI) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
Hassan is a Professional Engineer, a Certified Management Accountant and holds professional designations in corporate governance, program risk, information systems audit, risk management and IT governance.
