Hai grew the biggest AI community in Canada ( AI tinkerers ) from 30 to now 680 members. AIT Ottawa had been called a weird phenomenon by cities ground the world, from Seattle to Munich.
He occasional takes ML / AI engineering consulting jobs, teaches at a coding bootcamp, advises and gives workshops for startups at Invest Ottawa on topics like AI agents, RAG (especially the retrieval part), pg-vector, and web scraping. He opens source many projects and was a contributor for LangChain Python, and authored one of one of the first popular projects using LLM with web scraping for data extraction in 2023.
Hai’s main gig is Cats with Bats, a learning platform that aims to be the best place for software engineers to learn AI.
Fun fact: Hai majored in Cinema & Economics, and learned to code on the job (the last job was at a YC S’19 startup). He used to live in Newfoundland and got screeched 5 times.

TiE is the world’s largest entrepreneurship network in the world with 13,000 members and 3200 charter members in 58 chapters across 12 countries. Since its inception, in 1992, TiE members have generated over $1 trillion of wealth through their entrepreneurial endeavours. TiE’s sole mandate is to foster entrepreneurship and help its members create wealth through entrepreneurism. TiE Canada has three chapters – TiE Ottawa, TiE Toronto and TiE Vancouver.
